Safeguarding Week was a great success this year with several hundred practitioners and young people from across the region attending online and face to face events designed in response to some of the challenges on a journey of recovery from the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Animation Launch with the Children's Commissioner

A safeguarding training resource and animation developed and created by the Regional Safeguarding Board’s Junior Group CADW, was officially launched as part of the event, by the Children’s Commissioner for Wales Rocio Cifuentes. The training resource designed to be used in all mandatory multi-agency safeguarding training across the region, gives powerful messages to professionals about what is important to children and young people when practitioners and professionals may need to intervene in their lives to support or protect them.

Programme of Online Events

During the week, we hosted a variety of online webinars that raised awareness and highlighted issues that affect children and adults at risk. Presentations and supporting resources from most of these sessions are now available for practitioners to access directly on the event links from the safeguarding page below.

Domestic Abuse Conference

Dyfed Powys Police hosted an outstanding domestic abuse conference, where the quality of the speakers including survivors was excellent and extremely powerful.
