CPR CYSUR 2 2017

Today the Mid and West Wales Regional Safeguarding Board publishes a Concise Child Practice Review, CYSUR 2 2017, in respect of a 15 year old young person who resided in Ceredigion.

The Review has been undertaken in accordance with statutory legislation set out in the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and accompanying guidance Working Together to Safeguard People – Volume 2 – Child Practice Reviews (Welsh Government,2016).

Ceredigion County Council has made the following statement to accompany publication of the report.

‘Ceredigion County Council wishes to convey its sincere condolences to the young person’s family and close friends.

Their engagement with the review process during this difficult time has enabled the young person’s story to be told within the Report and has also helped to identify ways in which agencies can strengthen and improve safeguarding practice.

The review has been an opportunity to reflect and share learning amongst all partner organisations and we acknowledge the importance of the co-operation of the young person’s family and close friends and the commitment of practitioners to this process.

We hope that this Report will contribute to wider ongoing learning in relation to a number of key safeguarding issues.’

The Mid and West Wales Regional Safeguarding  Board will oversee the delivery of the action plan and are committed to ensuring that lessons continue to be learnt and services improved.
